Freeze any crab clusters you are not ready to use right away. Whether you get king crab clusters or snow crab, any cluster will need to be refrigerated until thawed. How Does Cluster Shipping Work?Ĭrab clusters arrive at your door fully cooked and frozen. Snow crab clusters fall in the range of $50 per pound, and we guess that king crab will be more expensive. Snow crab clusters are a more popular option. Because of this, it is hard to pin down a price. Not taking the extra step of removing the legs from the body makes the crab ready to ship quicker.Īlaskan king crab clusters are very common amongst online seafood retailers. They cost less since fewer processing steps are required of the supplier. How Much Will I Pay for a Cluster? CompanyĬlusters tend to have a lower price-per-pound than individual legs. King clusters are harder to find, but they are sometimes available via specialty retailers. You might also find Dungeness crab clusters available online. Snow crabs tend to be smaller, making the cluster a more practical option than selling individual legs. The most common clusters for sale are from snow crabs. The number of legs per cluster will vary, depending on the variety of crab. All of the pieces are still connected at the shoulder area of the crab. King crab clusters consist of a whole side of a crab, which has three legs and a claw with its arm. There is just one crucial difference between buying clusters and crab legs: Clusters remain connected, while crab legs are individually portioned.

Some songs about Star Wars, The X-Files, and Lost are slated for the future. So far, we’ve recorded songs about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Office, and Doctor Who. T8H: The 8th Horcrux is strictly wizard parody rock, but we also record under the name “Paul and Trina”. Trina: “Harry Potter, its elaborate alternate-universe, and the assortment of bands we’ve butchered, I mean, parodied, are our major influences.”ĭFTBA: Do you only play Wizard Rock or do you do other forms of parody music as well? Although songs like that aren’t as funny, I’ve used that formula on several of our songs, like ‘All the Slytherins (Better Run)’, and “Priori Incantatem”. Paul: “In the summer of ‘09, I downloaded the ‘Scarred for Life’ EP and I really felt that the album was, musically, awesome and, lyrically, really dark. Other musical influences include “Weird Al” Yankovic, who got us into the parody business to begin with, and They Might Be Giants. Paul was really inspired by their “Scarred for Life” EP, which is what got him into wizard rock in the first place. T8H: Wizard rockers that have influence are style include, most notably, Harry and the Potters. T8H: The 8th Horcrux has been together for almost three years, and our bandiversary is the same day as Harry’s birthday (July 31).ĭFTBA: Who are some of your major musical influences? Her popular writing credits include the lyrics for “Witch”, “In the Pensieve”, “Bellatrix’s Paramour’, and “I’m Awesome”.ĭFTBA: How long have you been making music together? She plays lead guitar, sings lead vocals, and writes some lyrics. His popular writing credits include the lyrics for “I’m On a Broom”, “Socks”, “I Love Hogwarts”, and “(Ginny’s) Love Story”. He plays rhythm guitar, sings lead vocals, writes some lyrics, and does all the fun music production stuff. Read through the interview for a special offer directly from the band While doing our Reblog Saturday tour we came across a band called The 8 th Horcrux and we decided to interview them. When you combine the two you have something amazing that is called Wizard Rock. And then there is Harry Potter that has gotten more people to read that were not previously readers than almost any other book before it. Even if the words are not understood the music can break down language barriers and the emotion will join them together. There is little that can connect people groups better than a song. Music is said to be the universal language. I’ve had a lot of fun with it over the past little while, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes the idea of simulating student life in a modern fantasy setting, whether you’ve played the first one or not. I rushed to back the kickstarter just over a year ago, and started playing as soon as it was released. It’s a follow-up to 2012’s Magical Diary: Horse Hall, which played a big role in my becoming the voracious visual novel reader that I am today, as well as making me a lifelong fan of developers Hanako Games. Charmingly indie, Magical Diary is definitely worth the purchase.Magical Diary: Wolf Hall-a game that combines elements of stat-raising and puzzles with a visual novel format and a plot about solving mysteries and getting dates at a magical boarding school-was my personal most highly anticipated release of 2020. It’s a nice touch as is the fact you can date people of any gender or species. Later, as you acquire money, the game allows you to purchase equipment, equipment that shows up on the protagonist herself. In the beginning, you’re even allowed to pick out the character’s looks. One of the biggest selling points for Magical Diary is, perhaps, the fact that the game permits customization, something almost unheard of in the visual novel genre. I would have prefered if the look stayed completely 2D personally. The backgrounds are also somewhat uninspired. For the most part, the tinctures used lack significant shading. However, colours-wise, Magical Diary fails to impress as much. The teachers, on the other hand, seem like parodies of the lecturers from Hogswarts. Cat ears and demonic wings also take a prominent role in the presentation of the people. Long, flowy hair and large eyes appear to be a staple here. Some are drawn out like Freshman Initiation while others appear to be tied to specific characters.Ī dating sim at heart, Magical Diary’s anime-inspired visuals lend well to the atmosphere. Special events do crop up as well, from time to time. Players will also learn spells on what appears to be a random basis, spells that are later used in tests that are held periodically through the school terms. At times, the events can be uneventful: a class might do nothing more than reward the player with additional points (or even failures). Once they’ve done so, they’ll then enact the decisions made. In the beginning of each week, players can choose the classes and activities for the day before finalizing that decision. After the initial introduction, the game breaks into a segment of a weeks. It is surprisingly easy to fall into the rhythm of the game. Yet, at the same time, Magical Diary still somehow manages to encapsulate the feeling that it is a parody though the humor is more tongue-in-cheek than pointed. While the characters are walking stereotypes often enough, the interaction between them feels real and believable. If anything, it feels as though the author of the script had an extensive amount of fun working within the scope they had been given. It makes no pretensions and no attempts to provoke metaphysical thinking. Though a Pulitzer Prize is unlikely to be forthcoming, Magical Diary’s narrative is tight. The writing, I think, plays the largest role in this. As silly as the premise sounds, everything plays out surprisingly well. I cared enough to want to carefully evaluate my weekly class schedule as to be able to meet certain characters. I wanted to see how certain things played out. Within the first twenty minutes, I found myself growing invested in the story. Yet, at the same time, Magical Diary, for some incomprehensible reason, works. It has everything you could possibly imagine, every form of stereotype imaginable and every plot element common to the Mary Sue-infested genre. For those of you wondering if this eventually comes to involve suspiciously familiar schools, cat boys, vampires, demons and a variety of high school hijinks, I can tell you this: It does. A trite formula spun onto its head, Magical Diary will have players stepping into the shoes of a young girl who has only recently realized her own aptitude for magic. I honestly did not expect to have this much fun with Magical Diary. Magical Diary is an enjoyable visual novel with character customization It becomes a really fun hobby, because there are literally hidden letterboxes everywhere, in all sorts of locations and many types of containers! Once you find one letterbox, it’s hard to stop. Letterboxing may bring you to a new place, park or location you never knew existed. If it looks like it could be in a tree, possibly use a stick to scoop it out, in case there is an animal or critter inside. People who are not “letterboxers,” are often referred to as “muggles,” and when hunting a hidden container in an open, public space, please be cautious! Unfortunately, this is one of the ways that containers go missing, when fallen onto the hands of someone who doesn’t understand the hobby.Īlso, be aware of the environment where the box may be hidden. Please remember when letterboxing, to return everything the way you found it. Other things to know about letterboxing for kids Letterboxing is something that gets our kids outside and creates memorable adventures, all year long. The neat thing about this hobby is that it’s international and an easy, free thing to do while on vacation or anywhere! Our log book shares a story about some really fun adventures!Ī friend of mine and I took our children to a state park last summer, suited everyone up in rain gear and letterboxed for an entire morning in pouring rain! We found 5 or 6 hidden letterboxes that hadn’t been found in years, and the kids had a blast. I started letterboxing by hiding a Geocache/Letterbox Hybrid inside my Little Free Library and have enjoyed the hobby with my children ever since. Many Little Free Library stewards share different ideas to help attract patrons to their libraries, and geocaching and letterboxing is one of them! This is a great artistic outlet to do as a family!Īlmost a year ago, my family and I put up a Little Free Library in our yard, and in joining the stewards of the LFL Community, a fellow steward shared letterboxing. Speedball makes a beginner kit, which retails for $26. This is all part of the adventure! How do I carve my own letterboxing stamp?īelieve it or not, carving a stamp is easier that it sounds! You can purchase a beginner carving kit, which are relatively inexpensive, at your local craft store or online. For example, carving a red X stamp, or carving a skunk on the days you aren’t so lucky. Some letterboxers make their own unique stamp for when they don’t find the hidden box, so they can still mark their log book. If this happens, you can always reach out to the person that planted it to let them know and ask if you’re in the right spot. There are some hidden letterboxes that have been hidden for decades! However, some can turn up missing. Sometimes, boxes run off, either by accident or someone may have stumbled upon the container and didn’t know what it was. Unfortunately, there might be times where the hidden treasure isn’t found. What happens if I don’t find the letterbox? It seems more than a coincidence, then, that Frank Ocean, who claimed his independence last year when he broke free from his recording contract with Def Jam to self-release Blonde, is featured on the song “Caught Their Eyes,” in which Jay uses the symbol of eyes to wax poetic about recognition. I sat down with Prince eye to eye / He told me his wishes before he died / Now Londell McMillan, he must be colorblind / They only see green through them purple eyes / They eyes hide, they eyes high / My eyes wide shut to all the lies / These industry n-s, they always been fishy / But ain’t no Biggie, no lazy eye, huhĬiting the now-infamous incident wherein, after Prince’s death, his estate claimed JAY-Z and Prince had made no formal arrangement to host the late artist’s music exclusively on TIDAL, Jay speaks to a lack of true recognition for honoring the wishes of Black artists. As JAY-Z raps on “Moonlight,” “ I don’t pose no threat on the Internet / I just pose a threat.” Or, as Ellison’s narrator puts it, “I’d make my invisibility felt if not seen.” Jay is able to see Prince as a human, eye to eye, but Prince’s lawyer, Londell McMillan, only sees Prince as a source of profit, thereby dehumanizing him.Īnd, of course, the song title itself, “Caught Their Eyes,” could very well indicate that Jay and Frank are aware of the threat they pose to a historically white industry that has long profited on Black artistry while white businessmen claim higher profits as the top label heads. “Caught Their Eyes” is just one of several records on 4:44 where JAY-Z employs the idea of sight as a means of recognition and realization of growth. Beyond white industry heads, Jay pays careful attention to fully seeing each of his family members. However, some regions do book a place in their calendars to celebrate Saint Joseph. Nowadays, it is not recognized as a public holiday at the national level. In the past, Father’s Day was an official holiday in Spain and people didn’t have to work that day. For this reason, Spain and other countries have worked Father’s Day into the Catholic calendar by moving it to March 19 th. The date, however, was sometimes changed to fit each territory’s traditions. In the U.S., it is celebrated on the third Sunday in June.Īfter the celebration’s success in the States, the holiday was adopted by several countries around the world, including Spain. In 1925, Dodd wrote that the whole country was honoring fatherhood each year, but Father’s Day didn’t become an official federal holiday until 1972. presidents Woodrow Wilson and Calvin Coolidge. Over the years that followed, more and more people began celebrating Father’s Day. Word spread across the country and around the world. She convinced Washington State to create a Father’s Day, and the day was celebrated statewide on June 19, 1910. Her own father was a widower who raised Dodd and her five siblings, and she was determined to find a way to honor him. In 1909, as she listened to a Mother’s Day sermon at her church in Spokane, Washington, Dodd realized that there was no special day that celebrated fathers. This public holiday first began in the United States thanks to a woman called Sonora Smart Dodd. The date was officially established during the papacy of Pope Sixtus IV.ĭespite all these precedents, it was not until the beginning of last century when Saint Joseph’s day started being celebrated as Father’s Day in Spain. Nowadays, the festivity takes place on March 19 th, as the Roman calendar states. In the western world, the celebration gained prominence after the Dominican calendar was introduced. Egyptian Copts had already devoted a day to Joseph in the fourth century. Through history, the cult of Saint Joseph has had several references scattered throughout the Christian world. It’s very likely that Joseph died before Jesus’s public life began. For this reason, he is commonly called the Saint of Silence. However, there are no written stories reflecting his own words. Thanks to the gospels, we know that Joseph was a professional carpenter. In addition, he is the patron saint of the Universal Church, immigrants, craftspeople, workers in general, and engineers, among others. Joseph represents all the good values of a proper husband and a loving father in his role as part of the Holy Family. In some regions, Saint Joseph’s day is a public holiday appointed by the Catholic Church to celebrate the life of Joseph, Mary’s husband. For this reason, in Spain, Father’s Day takes place on March 19, coinciding with Saint Joseph’s day. So whether it’s in English or in Spanish (or a bit of both), your Papá will be so happy to read how much you mean to him - in any language. As in many countries, the Spanish holiday calendar is heavily influenced by the Catholic tradition. I had to google how to set up an easy way to export selected photos into an email to send to friends but in the end after 2 minutes I have better control over shrinking photos to attach to email than iPhoto (which has a decent Export feature but the standard Email feature is limited). The nice thing is that this program is fast and sleek and allows me to vet through hundreds of photos, deleting the ones I do not like and the photos actually delete themselves from the external location and not just the preview. Lightroom them automatically imports any photos in any of the date sub-directories that it does not already have. What I like about lightroom was that I could link the library to an external folder and all I need to do after connecting the camera to my machine to download the photos is load up Lightroom and click on the parent folder in my catalog and select "Syncronize Folder" from the menu. It is sleek and very similar to iPhoto in many ways. I then tried Lightroom and I have come to really like it. Importing the pictures and deleting them from their original locations was again a problem. I then tried Aperature which I liked but ultimately it had the same problem that I mention above for iPhoto in which you can link to photos in an external folder from the aperature library. Some people do this on import but I like looking at the photos full screen first and sometimes I keep a bad picture when I realize that none of the others have turned out as well. This would mean that my photo collection would be huge because I usually delete a lot of pictures that do not turn out well. I do not want to cull through hundreds of photos when I first plug my camera into the computer so this was a deal killer for me. In the end using iPhoto by simply linking to the files in a separate folder structure was a failure because after importing them into iPhoto (again linking to them, not copying them) when I vetted through my photos deleting the ones that did not turn well I noticed that the preview JPG in the iPhoto library would be deleted but the original JPG in the original location outside of iPhoto would still be there. I didn't want to copy the files into the iPhoto library and I wanted to keep the files in their current folder structure so that I could easily share them with non-MAC machines and so that I would be protected should I easily want to migrate the photos to some other program. A few weeks ago I spent some time trying a bunch of MAC photo solutions and eventually settle on one I liked. I also recently had a similar problem with what to do with my pictures that were in the typical Windows file/folder structure using the date the photo was taken. It may be worth looking into.ĭavid: Since I switched to MAC from Windows a few months ago your blog (and fellow reader's comments) has been a pleasure to read. In all, probably the best image cataloging tool available for the Mac that I have found. It also contains a duplicate file finding routine which can locate duplicate images either on an exact-copy basis or a 'similar image' basis that even flags images of different sizes but are otherwise the same, allowing you to choose which one or ones to keep. One way I use this app is to 'lightbox' on one monitor and open a large-scale Preview on the other. As far as I can remember, no features are disabled for not registering it, but by paying the $35 you get automatic notification of updates and upgrades which are usually free to registered users. However, you can use it for free if you don't mind the 1-minute 'nag window' asking you to register it before it opens. The drawback (if you can call it that) is that it costs about $35 to register. I admit that GC doesn't do everything Picasa does (like search for and memorize the locations of all your photos) it does allow you to find, catalog and copy/move images from one place to another as well as giving you a rather complete lightbox capability and some basic editing capabilities. While I use a combination of several different applications for reviewing and editing my collection, including iPhoto, Aperture2, Photoshop and PSBridge, my main image cataloging tool is GraphicConverter from Lemkesoft in Germany. I work with photographs and other images quite frequently in the line of my business. Ice Cube – “The Nigga Ya Love to Hate”ġ7. Steve Arrington’s Hall of Fame – “Weak at the Knees”ġ4.
